**Job Description**
Under general supervision and procedural control, this position is responsible for the accounts receivables management and collections for the College. This position is responsible for the management of the accounts receivable portfolio related to collecting, recording, and safeguarding college-wide revenue. This position ensures the implementation of the various Minnesota State Policies for Student Accounts Receivable. Other duties include Drop for Non-payment processing, write-offs of uncollectible debt, and add/remove of miscellaneous charges to student accounts. This position requires thorough knowledge and understanding of the MnSCU ISRS accounts receivable module, collection procedures, and the Nelnet Business Solutions payment plan procedures. It also requires general knowledge and interpretation of policies, principles and practices related to college admissions, financial aid and data privacy in accordance with Federal and State laws and college policy. This position performs related work as required.
**Minimum Qualifications** _(expected to have to enter job)_
+ One year of professional level work experience in accounting or related field.
+ Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze and interpret financial information, locate errors, and recommend solutions.
+ Knowledge of accounting systems (or comparable), sufficient to query and compile records and reports, and recognize and reconcile errors or inconsistencies.
+ Excellent customer service and human relations skills sufficient to interact respectfully, courteously, and professionally with stakeholders of various backgrounds to positively represent SCTCC.
+ Proficient in spreadsheet applications to track and monitor transactional data and create reports.
+ Proficient in the use of standard business software applications including word processing, electronic spreadsheets, internet browsers and e-mail software.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. to work with a varied level of internal and external customers, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and requisitioning staff.
+ Ability to serve individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
**Preferred Qualifications** _(desired but not expected to have to enter job)_
+ Two-year degree in Accounting or related field and/or equivalent in work experience in an Accounting position.
+ Knowledge of State of Minnesota-specific computer systems and software programs including Workday and ISRS.
+ Ability to use computer software to analyze, troubleshoot and solve A/R student account issues.
+ Experience in accounts receivable and collections functions and systems.
+ Ability to use human relation skills to effectively respond to inquiries or complaints and be able to explain the policies and procedures.
+ Ability to organize tasks, initiate action, and to work independently.
+ Demonstrated skills in decision making, organizing, planning, coordinating, and strong analytical abilities
**Other Requirements**
The salary range for this position is: $21.90-$29.65 per hour.
