Accounts Receivable Accountant

Maxar is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our team in Westminster, CO. In order to be successful in this role, you will possess a strong initiative and a desire and ability to be an effective team player. You will also be motivated and comfortable in working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage and execute end-to-end operational billing for new and existing customers

Review and collection of delinquent accounts

Review and approval of credit limits for new and existing customers

Generate internal collection progress reports

Identify and implement process improvement

Build strong relationships and lines of communication with external and internal customers

Interface with multiple departments, including Sales staff and multiple levels of management

Cash receipts – accurately apply all customer payments and research unidentified amounts

Negotiate payment plans with delinquent customer accounts

Adhere to Receivables Accounting policies and procedures, in accordance with GAAP and SOX

Collaborate with Revenue Accountants to ensure proper recording of A/R and Revenue

Assist with month-end close, quarterly reviews, and annual and quarterly audits

Prepare month-end related journal entries and account reconciliations

Minimum Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related field. Four additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree

2 years of hands-on Accounts Receivable experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Solid understanding of debits and credits, account balancing, and reconciliation procedures

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Experience with SAP or similar ERP

Commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork

Excellent organizational and time management skills with a focus on detail and accuracy

Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.

● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $59,000.00 - $99,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
