Accounts Receivable Clerk

As an Accounts Receivable Clerk, you will perform multiple technical accounting tasks and customer service outreach to ensure accurate and timely preparation/recording of client records. This position will work closely with the Accounts Receivable Specialist. You will directly interface with clients on cash application, billing and collection matters with an emphasis on maintaining and enhancing the client relationship. This is an entry-level role with opportunities to grow within our team and company. What you’ll do:

Perform account reconciliation on client accounts

Initiate refunds

Billing function

Creation of credit memos and adjustments in ERP accounting system

Organize work and perform client outreach as required to ensure timely collection of balances to meet the cash collection goals of the company

Process and post daily lockbox, ACH, wire remittance, and credit card deposits to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices; performs reconciliation of the receipts batch

Assist AR Specialist to timely and accurately prepare and record a variety of client invoices including, but not limited to, monthly OPI invoicing, document translation projects, face-to-face interpretation, testing and training (assessments), ASL/VRI interpretation, pay-as-you-go interpretation, phones/accessories, and VRI equipment.

Perform reconciliation of assigned G/L accounts.

Support and directly interact with various departments concerning client billing for purchases of goods and services from the company.

Maintain accounts receivable reports, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and corporate accounts receivable files.

Minimum Qualifications:

Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and principles.

Strict attention to detail and accuracy while continuing to meet deadlines.

Ability to respond appropriately and work effectively in highly stressful or tense situations related to the order to cash process.

Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize work and manage competing priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Ability to operate standard office computing products (examples:  Oracle, Workday, GetPaid, Microsoft NAV, MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, internet browser).

Ability to operate competently common office equipment including, but not limited to computer, fax, copier and telephone system.

Skilled at mathematical computations.

Skilled at communicating, both orally and in writing.

Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective work relationships.

Skilled at researching and reconciling receivable batch activity in accounting software.

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Prior accounting and/or banking experience, preferably in a customer service/collection environment with solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and personal computer use.

Nice-to-have experience:

Two (2) years of accounting experience preferably in a customer service/collection environment with solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and personal computer use.

We expect this position to start at an hourly rate between $20.50/hour, depending on experience.

Physical Demands:

Requires sitting or standing for extended periods

Extensive use of a computer and repetitive hand movements in the performance of duties

Occasional lifting and carrying of material weighing up to 50lbs may be required
