Accounts Receivable Clerk
Description Job Summary Robert Half is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to assist our client’s accounting team in Plainfield, IL. This is a 3-4 month contract opportunity with a competitive pay rate of $23.00 per hour. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on accuracy and an ability to contribute to the timely collection, posting, and reconciliation of accounts receivable. AKey Responsibilities + Invoice Processing: Generate and distribute invoices to customers in an accurate and timely manner. + Payment Posting: Apply customer payments to their accounts while monitoring for any discrepancies. + Account Reconciliation: Assist in reconciling customer accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies in payments or billing. + Collections Support: Communicate with customers via phone or email to follow up on outstanding balances and ensure timely payment. + Research & Disputes: Investigate and resolve billing issues, payment discrepancies, and customer inquiries. + Reporting: Prepare weekly and monthly reports that track accounts receivable performance and aging balances. + Administrative Tasks: Maintain electronic and physical filing systems for accounts receivable records as required. + Cross-functional Assistance: Collaborate with internal teams, including Accounts Payable and Customer Service, to resolve customer-related payment issues. Qualifications + Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. + Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or general accounting. + Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables and VLOOKUP experience preferred). Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, or QuickBooks) is a plus. + Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential. + Problem-Solving Ability: Exceptional ability to research, analyze, and resolve customer payment discrepancies.
