Accounts Receivable Clerk
Description Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team on the Corbin, KY area. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing financial transactions, reconciling customer accounts, and supporting collection efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. Key Responsibilities: + Process and verify invoices, ensuring appropriate documentation before payment. + Maintain and update accounts receivable records, ensuring timely application of credits and collections. + Perform daily cash management duties, including recording bank deposits and posting payments to the A/R sub-ledger. + Monitor outstanding accounts and initiate collection efforts through phone, email, and written communication. + Identify and escalate delinquent accounts, recommending appropriate collection strategies. + Conduct analytical reviews and prepare reports to assess collection performance and improve A/R processes. + Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve billing discrepancies. + Support the accounting and finance team in inventory management and cost accounting. Requirements Qualifications & Skills: + Bachelor's or associates degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. + Previous experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, or credit-related activities. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus. + Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work with a sense of urgency. + Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work with clients and internal teams. + Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to financial compliance regulations.
