Accounts Receivable - Non-Profit Opportunity!
Description Job Summary: Our client, a growing non-profit organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to support the financial operations of a newly launched program. This contract-to-hire position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in establishing and managing the receivables for a vital program while contributing to the mission of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Invoice Creation and Management: + Generate and send invoices for program fees, donations, and other receivables related to the new program. + Ensure proper coding of invoices to specific program and grant-related accounts. + Track and record payments, issuing receipts and confirmation to donors and program participants. Payment Processing and Application: + Process incoming payments from various sources, including checks, credit cards, ACH, and online donations. + Post payments to customer accounts and ensure accurate tracking in the accounting system. + Assist with following up on overdue payments and provide gentle reminders to ensure timely collection. Customer and Donor Communication: + Respond to inquiries from program participants, donors, and partners regarding invoices, payment status, and billing discrepancies. + Maintain positive relationships with donors and clients, providing exceptional customer service. Reconciliation and Reporting: + Reconcile payments and outstanding balances regularly to ensure accurate financial records. + Assist with preparing reports on program income, outstanding receivables, and donor contributions for management. + Help prepare documentation for audits and grant reporting purposes. Program and Financial Support: + Work closely with the program management team to track payments related to program expenses and income. + Assist in ensuring all financial records are aligned with the goals and guidelines of the new program. Administrative Support: + Maintain organized records of invoices, payment confirmations, and donor communications. + Support other administrative tasks related to the program and general office operations as needed. Requirements Qualifications: + 1-2 years of experience in accounts receivable or clerical accounting, preferably in the non-profit sector. + Basic knowledge of accounting principles and experience with invoicing, payment processing, and collections. + Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices and working with grants or donations is a plus. + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Non-Profit, Sage Intacct, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer service. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks. + High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
