Description
As the Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will lead the accounting team's billing and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate invoicing for all clients. This position involves tight deadlines and a range of financial activities, and will report to the organization's Controller.
Responsibilities:
+ Analyze current accounts receivable processes and procedures to ensure they are the most effective and efficient methods for delivering timely and accurate AR results.
+ Maintain strong relationships with the Sales Team by responding promptly to requests, adhering to policies and procedures, clearly communicating issues or concerns, being reliable and accountable, and collaborating on the best solutions and practices.
+ Ensure that all processes related to billing, receivables, aging, finance charges, collections, and more are followed appropriately.
+ Prepare, analyze, adjust, interpret, and distribute various reports, including cash collections, billings, aging, and other financial information.
+ Oversee the monthly preparation of invoices and statements for clients.
+ Collaborate with Media Consultants, Sales Managers, and Executives to:
+ Address questions regarding billing, payment applications, aging, collections, etc.
+ Collect past-due accounts through telephone and written communication, documenting all collection efforts.
+ Resolve invoice or payment discrepancies between clients and affiliated entities.
+ Maintain customer records within billing software and review new customer accounts.
+ Analyze, adjust, interpret, and distribute aging reports.
+ Prepare or review daily cash deposits to ensure accurate application to client sub-ledgers and proper backup documentation for deposits.
+ Support and collaborate with other accounting team members on special projects, assignments, and achieving team goals and objectives.
+ Assist in ensuring an accurate and timely month-end and year-end close.
Requirements
Requirements:
+ Education and/or Experience: Associate degree and 4+ years of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Strong writing skills for reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
+ Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures such as wages, salaries, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply basic algebraic concepts.
+ Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
+ Computer Skills: Knowledge of Dynamics GP, Wide Orbit, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is preferred.
