Aston Carter is working with a great company in Overland Park that is hiring for an Accounts Receivable Specialist!

Job Description:

The Accounts Receivable Specialist maintains a dynamic skill set tempered by the ability to create and maintain sound customer relationships while also possessing the ability to create a sense of urgency of payment on past due accounts. The Specialist will have knowledge of the Workday application to ensure all customer accounts are timely and current in their payment responsibilities and on schedule. Upon receiving payment, the Accounts Receivable Specialist is also responsible for posting cash receipts and applying credit memos to accounts while also maintaining accurate audit records for month-end and closing deadlines.

Responsibilities:Contact customers on past due accounts with continued follow-up to resolutionApply cash receipts and posting of bank deposits to the GLProvide excellent customer service at all times with a high degree of professionalismSecure bank backup for data entry into the system for validation purposesWork closely with other departments such as sales and billing to resolve customer disputes or issuesControl accounts by applying stop gate tactics for accounts that are overdue (e.g., denying data center access)Navigate customer portals and purchase order managementApply analytical skills when handling specific accounts related to derogatory D&B rating, poor payment history, disputes, and other related situationsEssential Skills:2+ years of AR and/or collections experienceProficiency in research, accounting, collection, V-lookups, Microsoft Office, customer service, and financeProficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel)Experience working in research and data for customersExperience doing project-based workExperience with Workday application is beneficial
Work Environment:

Flexible working hours with a team of 4 on the AR team (3 collectors and 1 cash apps). The role currently allows for working from home one day a week after training (at least 1 month). The company offers a fast-growing environment with a robust accounting/finance team and an open-ended contract that could lead to permanent opportunities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr.
