Acquisition Manager
Southern Veterinary Partners (SVP) is a veterinarian owned and managed nationwide network of animal hospitals with the common goal of providing the highest quality veterinary care to companion animals. Acquisitions Managers play an integral part in the new hospital acquisition growth of the Company. Over the past year, this team added 350+ hospitals to the SVP portfolio. SVP is searching for highly motivated individuals to manage the process of guiding prospective acquisitions through financial and legal diligence to closing day, while building a solid relationship for successful on-boarding and integration into the SVP network. Our ideal candidate is exceptionally skilled in communication and customer service. SVP prides itself in providing a premier experience for practice owners both through the sale process and beyond. The Acquisitions Manager is critical to setting and upholding that standard. Our ideal candidate is also incredibly organized, has an agile approach to solving problems and prioritizing tasks, and has strong collaboration & communication skills when working with multiple teams across a fast-growing organization. The acquisition team is a fun, tight knit group that supports and encourages each other. They have very different work experience that creates an environment of diverse skill sets that compliments the group—no one person has to be the expert on everything because they constantly leverage one another’s experience and skills. Responsibilities An acquisitions manager owns the closing process and is the primary point of contact for seller and SVP internal teams. The overall job is to complete the necessary processes and push all parties to meet deadlines to achieve financial understanding, assist in deal negotiations, and teammate onboarding while ensuring customer has a white glove experience. Manage multiple deals with strict deadlines. Frequently need to be change agile to ensure competing deadlines are achieved. Constantly communicate with practice owners and guide them through the entire partnership process as efficiently as possible while always prioritizing the premier customer service experience. Coordinate, track, and push due diligence activities, including financial, HR, vendor relationships, key contracts, and other key integration items required for a successful partnership. Obtain a thorough knowledge of prospective veterinary hospitals and effectively communicate to internal SVP cross-functional teams. Communicate deadlines with all internal SVP cross-functional teams involved in the acquisition process and ensure prompt and efficient delivery. Assist sellers through the contract negotiation process, associate DVM employment agreements and overall legal process. Serve as the central contact for all selling parties, 3rd parties and SVP teams during the closing process. Opportunities to work on continuous improvement projects. Requirements Minimum of 2+ years of work experience, preferably in acquisition management, business development, professional customer service, or business to business sales. BA/BS degree from a four-year college or university Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an outgoing personality Strong negotiation skills/persuasive communication experience Demonstrated ability to have direct conversations with a customer centered approach Strong organizational skills; must be able to manage and prioritize multiple business objectives and projects with the proper sense of urgency and limited supervision Experience in effectively communicating with multiple parties within a project (both internal and external) Highly motivated “self-starter” with the ability to work under strict project timelines Demonstrated experience in conflict management and successfully leading difficult conversations Strong written and oral presentation skills; ability to present concisely and with detail Strong desire to learn and serve as a valuable team member Ability to work in autonomous, fast moving environment Instinct to problem solve vs delegate Project Management platform experience a plus Relevant Experience That Could Make You Great as an Acquisition Manager: Strong sales experience with consistent results Hospitality/event management Project management Accounting in a client facing role Professional customer service Acquisitions/Consolidators/M&A experience Benefits Work with an organization recognized as #1 in Healthcare by Newsweek’s Most Loved Workplaces in 2023.
