What You'll Do:

You will be responsible for the filtering of finished latex; the manufacture, packaging and shipment of finished product to fill customer orders, daily maintenance of the scrubber system and housekeeping. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.

 

What Will Be Your Environment: 

The Gastonia, NC location is about 30 miles west of downtown Charlotte, sitting close to the border of South Carolina. This site is currently experiencing some growth, though it currently has about 75 full-time employees. As part of the Advanced Materials division, this site produces a liquid acrylic polymer emulsion, which can be identified in end-use products such as latex or coatings applications.  


What We're Looking For: 

Filtering finished latex from reactors to storage tanks, including: the verification that the latex is within all specifications, calculation of correct storage tank capacity, proper sampling and recordkeeping (valve placement sheets, shift log, filing charts, etc.). Manufacture, packaging and shipment of customer bulk orders, including: the calculation of correct tanker input/output, inspection of the tanker, proper sampling, completion of the weight ticket and the bill of lading. Manufacture, packaging and shipment of customer drum orders, including: proper sampling and labeling, completion of the packing list and the bill of lading and the proper use of a forklift. Proper selection and use of pumps, lines, hoses and filtration equipment including inspection and cleaning as well as informing their Team Leader of maintenance work requests needed to repair defective equipment. Daily checks and maintenance of the scrubber system including: sampling, draining knock-out pots, adjusting flows, changing out solutions and recording QC results in the log book. Storage of raw materials and finished products in an organized and safe manner. General housekeeping in the process and warehouse areas.

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience as an operator in a chemical manufacturing is preferred, but not required. A high level of safety awareness is required. Job duties include lifting 55 lb. bags and climbing stairs and ladders. Plant operators must be medically fit to wear a negative pressure respirator. Basic math skills, reading comprehension and ability to communicate with others. Must satisfactorily complete all safety training courses as offered by management.
