ABOUT THE ROLE
The Entertainment & Lifestyle Director leads Cosmopolitan’s entertainment, lifestyle and horoscope operation across our many platforms, from print and digital, to social and video. Digitally, they will be responsible for setting the section’s strategy and ensuring all targets are hit. They will manage our news output, SEO and e-commerce goals, and oversee our out-of-hours news, and the freelance pool who provide coverage. In print, they will be responsible for the Play and Relax sections, as well as being across other celebrity-led moments in other sections. They will be a key player in our video operation, identifying formats and franchises, conducting interviews, and writing scripts. Brand-wide, they will work closely with the central Talent Director to collaborate on talent opportunities, cover shoots and interviews, and be the face for Cosmopolitan when it comes to any and all things entertainment and lifestyle.
ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate will be passionate about entertainment and lifestyle and fully immersed in the day-to-day news cycle. You will be brimming with cutting-edge, thought-provoking ideas across all platforms – digital, print, social and video - that our readers won’t be able to click or turn away from.
You will have experience working in digital media with an excellent understanding of SEO, analytics and e-commerce, as well as experience writing, editing and commissioning news and features across entertainment and lifestyle.
You will be on top of relevant breaking celebrity and TV news, responding to it in a timely but responsible manner, as well as viral trends and upcoming releases, and you will lead the news agenda rather than follow it. You will have an ability to find the unique Cosmopolitan angle in any story, in order to ensure our content is always uniquely ‘us’.
