Harmony Gardens is hiring a Full-Time Activities Aide to join our team in our beautiful, brand-new building in Maplewood, MN. In this role at our campus, you will conduct fun and exciting activities with our residents. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated with a genuine concern for our residents’ well-being, and has a creative personality and positive attitude.

Our new campus opened in December 2022 and is only 2 miles away from Maplewood Mall, beautiful parks (Hazelwood and Harvest Park), and a variety of dining options. Our new state-of-the-art senior living community includes independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and long-term care options.

This is a Full-Time, benefit eligible position available working 40 hours a week including every other weekend and some evenings.

Activities Aide responsibilities:

Plans and directs activity programs with residents of the Skilled Nursing Develop and Assess resident activity needs by completing activity assessments, progress notes and care planningInteract and assist residents on a one to one basis outside of structured program times.Document activity attendance and degree of involvement.Act as a positive representative at all times.Display an attitude of courtesy and respect for all residents, families, and staff.Perform other related tasks as needed.

Activities Aide skills and requirements:

Must have a 2 or 4 year degree (preferably in recreation therapy or healthcare)Prior experience working in a senior care environment preferred.Comfortable leading groups as well as structuring one on one activities.Demonstrate good time management and organizational skills.Ability to display enthusiasm and a positive attitude in promoting activities.Creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts, and games.Good communication skills, including ability to give directions to others in a manner that is pleasant and easily understood.Must be able to be on your feet most of the dayMust be flexible and willing to learn.
