Job Description
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is adding an Activities Aide to the staff at the Woodward Resource Center (WRC). This is a full-time position with opportunity for advancement, growth, and development. WRC is seeking passionate individuals like you to join our dynamic team as an Activities Aide in our Leisure Department and play a vital role in supporting individuals in our community to live their best lives.
As part of the WRC team, you'll:
+ Provide direct training to clients and assist Resident Treatment Workers in conducting specific training activities as determined by the Interdisciplinary Team.
+ Monitor client activities and assist in developing training activities relevant to clients’ Individual Lifestyle Plans.
+ Prepare, order, and maintain activity materials, schedules, scenarios, etc. as needed to complete client activities.
+ Assist in supporting and carrying out dining issues for assigned clients as determined by the Interdisciplinary Team and Treatment Program Manager.
+ Assist in completing client activities of daily living functions as needed utilizing individual program plans, partial participation, and accepted practices of "active treatment".
+ Complete clerical functions related to client activities and staff documentation requirements.
+ Attend department meetings for the purpose of communication, presenting problem areas for discussion, planning, and coordination of activities with other activity specialists.
+ Embrace other duties as assigned.
