Activities Assistant

Our teams of nurses, aides, food service, and environmental service employees work to create an environment that supports the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents along with their families. Position Summary: Our Recreation Assistants work with the Director and other members of the Resident Life team to plan and implement an activity program which is intended to meet the intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our residents. They are warm, patient, and have good time management and communication skills. They have a positive attitude, are open to trying new things, and are willing to work as part of a cohesive team. Our Recreation Assistants work in both assisted living and our memory care unit, and understand the needs of seniors as they move through various stages of their later years. Previous experience in a senior living environment is preferred but not necessary, as training is provided. **Job Description:** **Duties and Responsibilities** 1. Leads small and large group activities, and conducts one on one visits with residents. 2. Works in both Assisted Living and Memory Care community. 3. Uses technology on a daily basis to enhance the activity program. 4. Establishes and maintains good community relations and contact with family members and the community. 5. Manages supplies and materials required to facilitate successful preplanned events and activities. 6. Follows BILH hygiene policies in accordance with best practice prevention guidelines. 7. Engages in facilitated and non-facilitated education. **Position Requirements** 1. Must have at least a high school diploma. Further education is preferred. 2. Proficiency in using a variety of computer programs. 3. The ability to lift, carry, and push objects up to 40 pounds. 4. Must be of the age to serve alcohol. 5.
