JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Activities and Athletics, the Activities and Athletics Coordinator will assist with development and implementation of the District’s co-curricular athletics and activities programs for grades 7-12. The Coordinator will perform a variety of operational, supervisory and administrative functions to ensure the athletic and activity programs are implemented in alignment with the District’s mission and vision, and will serve as a resource for fostering positive relationships within the community.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Bachelor’s degree in Education, Recreation, Sports Management or a related field
+ Minimum of two years’ experience in student activities or athletics
+ Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Planning & Management
+ Assists with organizing and scheduling co-curricular activities, ensuring logistics and resources are effectively aligned for successful execution.
+ Collaborates with District departments and staff to coordinate event-related aspects and requirements.
+ Oversees activities to ensure compliance with district policies and promote a culture of sportsmanship.
+ Ensures activities comply with safety protocols, conducting regular reviews and making recommendations for updates as necessary.
+ Serves as the site manager as directed by the Director of Activities and Athletics.
+ Responds to safety concerns, and assists with medical and custodial needs.
Administrative Support
+ Assists with the development and administration of financial aspects of the department, including but not limited to budgeting and procurement, ensuring compliance with state and district policies.
+ Assists with data entry and management within various systems and applications (Arbiter, Bound, Dragonfly, Infinite Campus, IGHSAU, IHSAA, R School).
+ Assists with the coordination of travel and logistical arrangements.
+ Provides support with daily office operations and addresses inquiries from students, staff, parents and community members.
Collaboration, Communication and Outreach
+ Works collaboratively with Directors and administrative staff to implement and enhance program initiatives effectively.
+ Serves as an Activities and Athletics liaison to booster clubs, parent groups, and community organizations.
+ Assists with managing department communications and outreach to promote participation in events and activities and foster positive relationships with all stakeholders.
+ Collaborates with the District Communications Department regarding social media posts and ParentSquare communications.
Staff Supervision & Support
+ Actively recruits, trains, supervises, and provides feedback to athletic and activity staff.
+ Provides input for athletic coach and activity sponsor performance evaluations.
+ Assists in coordination and oversight of volunteers.
Professional Development
+ Participates in a variety of district, conference, and state trainings and meetings.
+ Engages in professional development related to duties and responsibilities to stay current with regulatory requirements and enhance department functions and capabilities.
+ Completes all required training.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
+ Attends away, post-season, and weekend events, contests and activities as the District representative.
+ Performs other job-related duties, as assigned.

+ Knowledge of co-curricular programming and student engagement strategies
+ Knowledge of principles, practices, rules, and procedures of competitive sports and athletic and activity programs
+ Knowledge of proper safety precautions and emergency procedures for athletic & activity settings
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills
+ Proficiency in using office technology and athletic/event management software and tools
+ Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, parents and community members
+ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
+ Ability to maintain appropriate levels of confidentiality
+ Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
+ Competent working in a culturally diverse environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ Frequent walking and standing for extended periods; moderate sitting; occasional climbing, squatting, crouching, kneeling and bending
+ Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; push and pull over 50 lbs.
+ Able to reach, push and pull above shoulder
+ Use of hands to finger, handle and feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms
+ Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus
+ Work is performed indoors in an office/school setting and outdoors
+ Occasional exposure to extreme hot/cold temperatures and humidity
+ Potential for exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases
