SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Activities Attendant will be to facilitate creative and engaging programming for resort guests, resort members, and their children. This individual will serve as a host for various activities and may host/chaperone different off property activities for various ages of kids and adults. Although Juniper Preserve does not currently have a “Kids Camp” many of the resorts’ activities are designed to engage children of all ages and their families. The activities attendant must be able to engage with all ages, especially children. This person will act as an ambassador for Juniper Preserve by providing accurate information regarding resort amenities, adventures programming, and popular Central Oregon area attractions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Must demonstrate a guest driven style of service with an upbeat, friendly sense of urgency in all interactions with Juniper Preserve members and guests.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of resort information at all times including:
Daily arrivals/ departures/ house count
Features and services of the hotel
Hours of operation for each outlet
Parking facilities, layout, and procedures
Activities & special events
Maintains accurate records, rosters, and waiver forms as appropriate.
Help lead/facilitate activities programming and contribute to planning and execution of department activities.
Lead cave tours and transport guests to and from other activities as needed. Engaging guests in conversation and providing insightful property information during these tours.
Ensure applicable activities billing is handled appropriately.
Responsible for the safety and well being of all participating in resort activities.
Maintain organization of the activities and equipment storage areas.
Report guest concerns, incidents, or suggestions for improvement to management.
Set up a work area with necessary supplies; maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
Work with pool/bike attendants to ensure the proper presentation and cleanliness of the pool area, patio, and pool towels.
Will work varied hours which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must maintain the privacy of all Juniper Preserve’s guests.
Maintain grooming and uniform standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Manages workflow effectively and in an organized and timely manner.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all hotel and departmental policies.

Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Maintains a professional standard at Juniper Preserve including, but not limited to, appearance, interaction with members, associates, guests of the resort, verbal discussions and written correspondence. Does not discuss work related issues with members and resort guests.
Supports and adheres to the CORE Values (ie. “The T.R.I.P.”), Service Fundamentals, and Guest Service Philosophy as defined by the Company.
Maintains a positive attitude and the flexibility to take on new and different tasks as assigned by the Resort Activities Manager or Activities Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required

Must possess patience and a sincere appreciation for children and people of all ages with the ability to communicate ideas and suggestions in a variety of forms.
Valid Oregon driver's license with no recent alcohol related offenses or criminal record.
Knowledgeable and familiar with Central Oregon attractions and recreational areas.

Ability to effectively communicate information to both guests and staff of the resort.

Personal Computer Experience.
