We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to help coordinate and execute events for our Assisted Living community. The Activities Assistant will assist with the logistics for daily, weekly, and monthly activities that engage residents and provide enjoyable, safe experiences.
To succeed as an Activities Assistant, you should strive to engage in activities that are appealing and appropriate for the age and physical or emotional conditions of our residents. We are looking for a professional team player who can help bring joy and fun to our seniors while preserving their dignity and quality of life.
Responsibilities Participate in the execution, physical set-up, and staffing of in-house events and classes.Staff off-site resident excursions in the community. Assist with resident reservations and activity sign-up records.Answer the phones.Follow up with residents by phone or personally to confirm activity sign-up and reservations.Disseminate activity schedules to residents, including monthly event postings and newsletters.Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm attitude when visiting with staff and residents.Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information to assure resident rights are protected. Qualifications Must been engaging and bubbly.Minimum of two year’s prior experience in planning activities, and executing planned events required.Be knowledgeable in evaluating residents’ needs, wants and interests.Must have excellent written and oral communication skills and able to speak in front of groups.Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.Experience with recreational and social programs a plus. Experience in working with seniors, particularly in an assisted living setting a plus.Must have TB test clearance not older than six (6) months or received within seven (7) days of employment and maintain current CPR/1st Aid certification.Must have ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with others, whether involved with residents, their families or public at large.Have a positive attitude with abundant enthusiasm.Computer experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Publisher required and be knowledgeable in administrative practices.Strong organizational skills with ability to follow-up, be detailed oriented and structured.Benefits:
