Job Summary:
We are currently looking for an experienced Activities Manager for an upscale Senrior Living Community.
Promote a healthy, activity-enriched lifestyle for residents and associates through assisting with the planning and implementation of the Art of Living Well programs at the community. Support the Art of Living Well team to meet the community’s Art of Living Well philosophy and the multi dimensions of Art of Living Well for residents and associates. Depending on the specific community, may motivate and supervise the development of the Art of Living Well team that provides exceptional customer service to the community.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain effective relationships and two-way communication with residents and familiesMonitor residents’ well-being in a general way and report any changes in condition to the appropriate associate/department immediatelyLook for opportunities to exceed resident expectations and enhance resident satisfactionPlan and implement a variety of group and individual Art of Living Well programs that meet the varying needs of the residents and staffWork closely with Art of Living Well Director to provide programs that meet the emotional, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual and vocational needs of the residents and staffCoordinate programs related to the interests and needs of the current residents and the surrounding community at largePromote resident and staff attendance and participation in all dimensions of the community Art of Living Well programsTeach and instruct classes as appropriateComplete Art of Living Well-related documentation in Point Click Care software for Skilled Nursing residents, as required by state and federal regulationsAssist with Art of Living Well newsletter and calendar of eventsEnsure that all Art of Living Well areas and equipment are safe, clean and secureDrive vehicles as necessarySupport open and honest communication with and between all associatesModel high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing a name tag when workingLook for ways to reduce costs and create efficiency on a daily basis. • Ensure regulatory compliance and report any issues or concerns immediatelySupport continuous improvementPresent required new hire training and ongoing skills training for associates and maintain appropriate documentationRepresent the Kisco PVBs and The Art of Living Well on a daily basis.Effectively supervise departmental operations on a day-to-day basisConduct and/or assist with regular staff meetingsCoordinate and communicate daily work schedules as neededAssist in sourcing and interviewing potential candidatesProvide performance feedback and counseling for associates as appropriateKeep Art of Living Well Director informed of associate activities and performance feedback (to include recognition and corrective counseling)MOD RotationWhat will I do every day?
You will assist the Wellness Director to present programs that meet the emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, and vocational needs of the residents and staffPromote and monitor resident attendance and participation in all Wellness programsTeach and facilitate programs as appropriateImplement a variety of group and individual Wellness programsWork with volunteers and community groups as needed to implement various programsAssist in setting up/tearing down Wellness and community events as neededAssist with scheduling transportation as requiredDrive vehicles as necessaryAs well as perform other related duties as required.What will I need to be successful in this role?
Bachelor’s degree preferred2-4 years related experience with developing and implementing Art of Living Well programs, preferably for seniorsSenior Living experience preferredMust be familiar with Point Click Care software and or willing to be trained.Special Requirements/Certifications I may need?
ASFA Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer (preferred)ACSM Health Fitness Specialist/ ACSM/ Certified Group Exercise Instructor/ ACSM Certified Personal TrainerCooper Research Institute Fitness and Strength Training for seniorsSenior Fitness Association CertificationActivity Based Alzheimer’s Care CertificationCertified Activity Professional (preferred)- can we add preferred to all these bullet points or perhaps change the title of this section to “Special Certifications Preferred (may vary, depending on community)”First Aid CertificationMust have or be willing to Obtain Activities CertificateWhat’s in it for me?
