+ POSITION SUMMARY: + Under the direction of the Administrator-Long Term Care or VP LTC, and in accordance with established policies and procedures and federal guidelines, provides supervision to employees /volunteers assigned to the Activities/SPEC NEEDS – NEURO BEHAV departments develops and implements group and individual activity programs. + QUALIFICATIONS: + EDUCATION: + Minimum : + Associates Degree in related field + Preferred : + Theraputic Recreation Specialist + LICENSE: + Preferred : + Recreational Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Occupational Therapy Assistant. + PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: + WORK EXPERIENCE: + Minimum : + Minimum of two (2) years full time paid experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program + SKILLS: + Minimum : + Requires a sensitive and reassuring approach to residents/patients. + Demonstrated leadership abilities. + Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. + Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. + Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point + Preferred : + Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point.
