Activities Director / Coordinator – East Pavilion at Southampton Memorial Hospital
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
Responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing recreational therapy programs for residents and Residents with dementia/Alzheimer’s.Schedule, coordinate, and lead group activities that meet the physical, spiritual, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of the residents.Complete 1:1 activities and document independent activities for residents who wish not to attend group programming.Evaluate activity effectiveness and residents’ responses in meeting individualized goals.Efficiently create neighborhood activity calendars and distribute them to residents, families, and staff.Decorate for holidays/activities and update calendar boards as needed.Minimum Education and Experience
Eligibility for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional by a recognized accrediting body (on/after 10/1/1990) or2 years of experience in a full-time, therapeutic program (social or recreational) within the last 5 years orThe individual is a qualified Occupational Therapist (OT) or OT assistant orHas completed a State-approved training courseMany of our opportunities reward* your hard work with:Comprehensive, affordable medical, dental and vision plans
