Activity Specialist, After School

Position Overview QCH is seeking enthusiastic and skilled Activity Specialists to join our After-School Programs. In this role, you will design and lead engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, and personal growth for elementary and middle school students. We have multiple openings for specialists in the following areas: 🎨 Art 📖 Literacy 🎭 Theater ⚽ Sports 🎶 Music 💃 Dance 🥋 Karate 📚 Academics 🚀 STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) 🌟 Leadership Development Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development & Leadership + Create and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to students' needs. + Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. + Lead structured activities that promote teamwork, skill-building, and creativity. + Assist students with homework and academic enrichment. Collaboration & Communication + Work closely with program directors, staff, and families to support student success. + Maintain clear communication with teachers, parents, and stakeholders. + Collaborate on thematic projects and interdisciplinary activities. Event & Program Coordination + Plan and facilitate special events, performances, and showcases. + Ensure safety and supervision of all students throughout activities. + Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions. Qualifications ✔ Education: + Must be at least 18 years old. + Currently enrolled in a related college program (e.g., Education, Human Development, Sociology, Human Services) with at least two years of coursework completed. ✔ Experience & Skills: + At least 3 years of experience leading youth activities, preferably in after-school or camp settings. + Demonstrated expertise in the specific content area for which you are applying. + Strong group facilitation, conflict resolution, and classroom management skills. + Ability to inspire and engage youth in leadership and skill-building activities. ✔ Additional Requirements: + Proficiency in basic computer applications and excellent verbal & written communication skills. + Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment. + Must pass NYS DOH Fingerprinting, NYS Clearance Review Background Check, three reference checks, and a physical exam (including an updated TB test).
