**MASAC (Massachusetts Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center)** is a Section 35 treatment center located in the beautiful Myles Standish State Forest in Plymouth, MA. This role is working with individuals with substance use disorders.
**How you make a difference**
The Activity Specialist provides engaging and rewarding activities in a safe and comfortable environment, ensuring participants' physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This role involves planning and implementing diverse activities tailored to the needs of the individuals served. The ideal candidate is creative, empathetic, and dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for participants.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Provide resources and opportunities to enhance participants' health and well-being.
+ Facilitate activities in both group and individual settings.
+ Plan activities and special events, selecting suitable activities for the occasion and population.
+ Complete documentation in the medical record within a specified time frame.
+ Collaborate with all departments and programs to meet the needs of individuals served, demonstrating age-specific and cultural competency.
**Qualifications & Requirements**
Education
+ Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience
+ Preferred: Experience in a mental health setting.
Licenses/Certifications
+ Required: Any client-mandated certifications and/or training.
Compliance
+ Must adhere to compliance requirements from company, client agency, and accreditation bodies.
