As a P&C actuarial analyst / senior actuarial analyst in ICT, you will work as part of a team on projects focused mainly on general insurance. You will be involved in a variety of projects including IFRS 17, pricing, reserve valuation, data science/analytics, RBC/ICAAP, merger and acquisitions etc. for our clients across South East Asia. Many of the projects will involve using WTW’s market leading actuarial software and techniques to produce customized solutions for our clients.
The Role
Producing, analyzing and explaining the results, and will work closely with other analysts/consultants and the project lead/manager to ensure timely delivery of projects. Supporting the project manager on drafting project plan, managing assigned workstreams, and ensuring the progress of the team against established objectives, budget, timeline, deliverables and quality standards. You will also be supporting on client communication, and business development activities. Working with consultants and project managers on a variety of insurance-related client projects which includes, but not limited to: IFRS 17 Reserve valuation Pricing Data science and predictive analytics Merger and acquisitions Risk management and capital management Developing actuarial models using WTW’s market leading actuarial software and techniques to produce customized solutions for our clients Supporting on research and Intellectual Property Development (IPD) work Building strong relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams Demonstrating natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels Delivering work in accordance to project deadlines and meet or exceed client expectations Working as part of a multidisciplinary consulting team to analyze issues and develop value-added solutions for the clients Developing a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects Contributing to sales activities by assisting on proposals, demos, presentations and pitchesThe Requirements
Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or any other related quantitative fieldsFresh grads, and experienced hires with up to 6 years of relevant experience in general insurance or consulting/regional roles. Less experienced candidates may be considered for the analyst position.Good progress with actuarial exams from recognised International Actuarial Bodies (e.g. CAS, IFOA etc)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication, especially in presentation and report writing Self-driven achiever, and able to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in ExcelGood time management skills, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects efficientlyBasic understanding of the insurance landscape, IFRS 17, reserving, M&A and/or pricing Familiarity with WTW’s actuarial modelling software (eg. Emblem, Radar, ResQ, ResQ Financial Reporter, Igloo) is a plus
