We are seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated Associate, with a demonstrable progress through IFOA core principles exams, to join our Health Insurance practice in the UK in early 2025.
The Milliman London Health Practice provides consulting expertise to a variety of clients including private medical insurance companies, NHS health commissioners and other public payer entities as well as pharmaceutical companies. Its unique blend of sound actuarial technical knowledge, extensive research experience and front-line healthcare products and tools make it a leader in healthcare actuarial consulting. The London Health Practice regularly collaborates on cross-border projects with local Milliman offices in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the US. It also advises on a range of regulatory work such as Solvency II, reserving, and pricing for international private medical insurance products. You will be working as part of a team, focusing on delivering actuarial and analytical solutions to our clients. Your role would support the management, analysis and interpretation of client data through your excellent data and analytics skills. You should be deadline driven with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
Responsibilities
To manage the technical aspects of specific client assignments (including running analytics tools and building models), within the agreed budgets and timeframes; To process and handle client data; To manage relationships with, and expectations of, specific clients; To attend client meetings as required; To assist in the timely production of reports to clients; To understand and comply with the Health Insurance practice’s risk management processes and procedures; To ensure that, for the assignments being managed, compliance is fully documented; To assist in the development and implementation of the practice’s marketing plan; To deliver presentations and produce articles in collaboration with other members of the team; To maintain high standards of technical knowledge and understanding, through reading of technical papers, participation in appropriate seminars, conferences, etc.; To disseminate this knowledge and understanding amongst colleagues and, where appropriate, clients; To provide assistance as and when needed to other team members. To supervise junior team members, To work towards timely qualification as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, and To carry out all tasks within the job holder’s level of skill and ability.Person Specification
