What You Will Do
In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:
Interface with clients to understand their needs and to manage the project internally Use a variety of Milliman models and other resources to produce health care cost projections and other actuarial work products. This role has the following requirements:
Bachelors degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, economics, or some other analytic field Achievement of Fellow of the Society of Actuaries Roughly 8+ years of relevant actuarial work experience in Medicaid or commercial health insurance. Excellent written and oral communication skills Passion to help clients solve their most pressing problems using quantitative thinking and analytical toolsThis role has the following preferred experience and skills:
Prior experience with benefits and/or pricing for plans offered through state or federally facilitated exchanges Willingness and aptitude for detailed work Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Strong creative problem-solving skills with an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset Strong knowledge of Excel and database/statistical analysis language (SQL or SAS) Experience leading more junior actuarial staff members is a plus Willingness to work with clients and teams located in Pacific time zoneThe Team
Milliman's San Diego healthcare practice provides consulting services to clients in the healthcare industry including health plans, government payers, providers, and reinsurers.

This role is based out of the Milliman office in San Diego, CA, but candidates hired into this role may work remotely anywhere in the US.
Compensation
The salary range is $100,000 - $236,000, depending on a combination of factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc. If overall experience is less than 10 years the range would be $100,000 - $209,000; for experience of greater than 10 years, the range would be $113,000 - $236,000.
