What You'll Do We’re looking for an Actuary, or Sr. Actuary I, leader to join our pricing team within our Benefits & Protection division. In this role, you will lead our Dental and Vision pricing efforts, managing a small team and working collaboratively with peers, leaders, and cross functional teams to deliver profitable growth! Lead team in efforts to maintain rate adequacy, continually improving manual and experience rating algorithms, processes, and tools. Collaborate closely on pricing strategy and best practices with Benefits & Protection leaders, peer pricing and in-force management teams to balance profitability and growth at the whole case level. Provide case level consultation to sales and underwriting. Lead or participate in business unit or cross company projects as a subject matter expert. Provide analytical and research-based consultation to achieve cost effective and strategic solutions. Responsible for duties associated with management of staff including, but not limited to: hiring, salary administration, and performance management. Provide strategic direction and leadership to direct reports on the day-to-day functions of their jobs. Who You Are Bachelor's degree or equivalent required A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, or global equivalent 8+ years of relevant actuarial experience required Informal or formal leadership experience Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, the Actuarial Standards of Practice promulgated by the Actuarial Standards Board, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AAA and the SoA Basic knowledge of Dental product is preferred Effective communication and presentation skills Strong analytical skillset and ability to navigate multiple initiatives simultaneously Curiosity to engage across multiple product lines and drive solutions with several cross-business functions Must maintain continuing education requirements as specified by the SOA or AAA Job Level We’ll consider talent at the Sr. Actuary I level with the right experiences and skills. Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $137000 - $190000 / year Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided. Pension Eligible Yes Additional Information Work Environments This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
