Fred Hutch is seeking a per diem acupuncturist to serve within its Integrative Medicine (IM) program. This position will focus on providing direct patient care. As a licensed acupuncturist, you will provide intensive symptom and side effect management as a member of a multidisciplinary care team. This role will collaborate closely with a core team that includes the IM Manager, the IM Medical Director, the IM Providers, nurse practitioners, yoga therapists, nutritionists, social workers, physical therapists, psychiatry, pain management and palliative care clinics, and clinical researchers. This role requires highly-developed clinical skills and the ability to work with a diverse oncology population. This position will report to the Integrative Medicine Manager and work in partnership with Fred Hutch Cancer Center's Public Health Sciences and Clinical Research Divisions.
Responsibilities Provide clinical expertise in implementing delivery of outpatient acupuncture services to Fred Hutch's oncology patient populationUse evidence-based acupuncture techniques to treat patient symptoms and treatment side effects using acupuncture needles and other toolsEvaluate and document patient progress related to symptom management and services rendered, interfacing across multi-modality clinical care and electronic medical recordServe on the multi-disciplinary IM clinical care team;Assist as needed in the development of IM education materials (written, A/V, in person, etc.) QualificationsRequired:
Successful completion of an accredited acupuncture graduate degree programBoard Certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM)Must be a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Washington or meet criteria to obtain Washington State license3+ years acupuncture experience, including demonstrated clinical experience with cancer and/or other critically ill populations and appropriate acupuncture techniques utilized for management of symptoms and treatment side effectsExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsStrong aptitude and enthusiasm for establishing patient rapport, delivery of patient education and explaining acupuncture treatment servicesStrength in developing, organizing and sustaining written procedures and documentationFamiliarity with Electronic Medical Record systemsSelf-awareness and a professional demeanorPreferred:
Doctorate/post-doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM) from Accredited InstitutionAdditional clinical degree or certification (RD, LMT, RN, MA, MSW, etc.)Training in Chinese herbal medicineClinical research experienceProcess improvement experience (LEAN Leader, Six-Sigma, continuous performance improvement, etc.)Familiarity with medical insurance payment administration, and acupuncture coverage determinationAbility to navigate organizational complexity within academic, research and/or multi-modal health systems

The hourly pay range for this position is from $46.69 to $70.03, which includes the per diem differential, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
