POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under direction from Providers, Acute Care Director, CNO, the Acute Care Supervisor RN delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Hospital Nurses provide care for pediatric and adult patients before and after surgical procedures, and with a broad range of medical conditions. Provides direct and indirect patient care in the acute care setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Works cooperatively with: Patients, families, physicians and mid-level providers, allied health staff and healthcare professionals. Plans, directs, coordinates and evaluates the overall daily flow of patients through the Acute Care setting. Ensures patient care, safety standards and documentation is carried out according to standards and/or policies set forth. Under the direction and approval of the Acute Care Director, organizes, plans and directs acute care functions and activities including interviewing staff, maintaining Acute Care schedules, obtaining quality data, maintaining incident report logs, and preparing evaluations for Acute Care staff. Gives direction to charge nurses, RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping Staff, Dietary Staff. Receives direction from: Director of Acute Care, Physicians, and Mid-level providers, Administrator and CNO.
EDUCATION:
Degree from an accredited Nursing Program Bachelor's Degree, preferredEXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in a med/surg areaLICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
Current Montana Start RN License, required BLS, ACLS, PALS, requiredKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Medical/Surgical Nursing Principles and Procedures Basic office and computer skills. IV skills, ability to operate manual and electronic medical equipment Coaching and counseling of subordinates Time management and delegation. Interviewing and strong Human Resource as well as exceptional communication skills required. Needs to be highly skilled in interacting with people at all levels of the organization. Must possess exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, be customer service oriented and work as an integral part of the team. Requires flexibility, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to demonstrate ability to initiate and develop special projects.
