Job Summary
Provide diagnostic and surgical services to the Charleston Area Medical Center, Inc. and its affiliates per the terms of the employment contract.
Responsibilities
To provide care to CAMC patients in the field of Acute Emergency and General Surgery in compliance with the highest standards of medical art and science, and within the ethical standards of conduct as applies to such fiduciary relationships. Such care will be delivered in the appropriate settings and coordinated with the staff present at each site. The physician will take the lead in all patient care issues and will be ultimately responsible for the outcome of the encounter.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages.
Education
MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent degree from an accredited program
Credentials
Board Certification/Board Eligibility by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery
Board Certification/Board Eligibility in trauma/surgical critical care preferred.
