Responsibilities
The Mayo Clinic new graduate Acute Inpatient Nurse Residency Program is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for a nursing career in acute care roles. These positions will be for new graduate RNs for a period not to exceed one year from the date of hire. These positions will provide high-quality didactic and clinical experiences needed to help you become a well-rounded acute RN. A selection committee will carefully review each candidate's completed application and supporting documentation before the pre-screening and interview process will begin. Upon acceptance into the program, candidates will be paid a market competitive RN hourly rate and will be considered benefits eligible. Relocation is offered for those outside of a 70 mile radius. Acute Inpatient program opportunities does not include - Medical Intensive Care Unit or Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. Successful sponsorship will require state licensure and completion of the Visa Screen or equivalent certification.
Qualifications
Graduate of a nursing program.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date of April 1, 2020 and after must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program within five years from the last day of the month of the RN start date.
All entry-level associate degree registered nurses with a RN start date prior to April 1, 2020 must provide documented evidence of program completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing program as stipulated by the degree requirement program in place at time of hire.
Additional Qualifications:
One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting. Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.
License or Certification:
Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency from one of the following programs: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Positions that are not on campus may not require current Basic Life Support (BLS) competency as determined by the work area.
Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.

Schedule Details
Monday through Friday (days vary). Most Nurse Residents are hired into night shift positions. Specific details about available schedules will be discussed during the interview process. Flexibility is strongly encouraged.
Weekend Schedule
Variable shifts including every other or every third weekend. Available schedule options will be discussed during interview.
