About Us

We are currently seeking full-time experienced registered nurses to join our growing Acute Care Med Surg team in Round Rock, Texas.  Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Round Rock is currently a 101-bed, full-service hospital, providing a wide network of medical expertise and resources, as well as an enhanced ability to care for patients. The medical center, adjacent specialty clinics and freestanding cancer center provide a full range of personalized care in more than 40 specialties.

As we gear up to open the doors to our expansion, spanning 165,000 square feet and 66 additional beds, we will introduce a state-of-the-art patient tower to our Round Rock hospital, tailored to accommodate the evolving needs of our rapidly growing population. Among its highlights, the tower will house an innovative 11-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, alongside expanded capacities for crucial departments such as a 28-bed Cardiac Care Med Surg and labor and delivery.

·         Total Hip/Knee Arthroplasty

\n

·         Lumbar Laminectomy

\n

·         Cervical fusion

\n

·         Cervical laminectomy

\n

·         Hip/femur fractures

\n

·         Simple closed/open limb fractures

\n

·         Acute Stroke, Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)

\n

·         Acute Coronary Syndrome (low risk)

\n

·         Medical Oncology/Hematology (Sickle Cell Crisis, Neutropenia)

\n

·         Anemia

\n

·         Altered Mental Status

\n

·         GI disturbances

\n

·         Other simple or complex surgical/ medical conditions

\n

Job Summary

\n

As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. 

\n

What You'll Do

\n\nYou, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.\nBuilding relationships, managing discomfort, and staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.\nCreating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.\nYou will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.\nWork with colleagues and the community to create a care plan. Delegate tasks carefully and follow up promptly.\nYou'll use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.\nAchieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions and commit to growth. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.\n\n

What Will Make You Successful In The Role

\n\nA deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.\nKnow nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules.\nProficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.\nRespect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.\nExceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.\nPositive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.\nExcellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.\nBasic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.\n\n

Qualifications

\n\nGrad of an Accredited Program\nSpecialized field of study should be nursing.\nA current and valid nursing license.\nMust have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.\n
