AD, Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolic Competitive R&D Intelligence (Remote)
**Description** We are seeking a strategic expert to perform competitive intelligence analyses for the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic Discovery Research (CRM DR). The individual will be accountable for analyzing and delivering expert competitive intelligence and contributing to strategic initiatives to drive pipeline innovation, development, and decision-making. This expert will work closely with the therapeutic area leadership team as well as R&D Project and Asset teams to generate insights, analyses, and strategic opportunity and scenario planning based on expert knowledge of the competitive landscape and market trends to guide pipeline differentiation, positioning, prioritization, and project decision-making. This expert will maintain a comprehensive understanding of external landscape and supporting information and communicate the analysis of the intelligence, based on the business needs. Additionally, this person will connect to and work with the local and global Competitive R&D Intelligence (CRDI) community within Boehringer Ingelheim. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Deliver expert competitive intelligence evaluations and recommendations to steer strategic and operational decisions from new therapeutic concept discovery through proof of clinical principle + Accountable for generating assessments for all project documentation and milestones, including new target proposals, research project reports, management summaries, novel indication assessments, challenge meetings, and therapeutic area/corporate strategic initiatives + Serve as a member of internal teams conducting external business development evaluations + Lead cross-functional alignment around external industry events relevant to the therapeutic area indications, including conference coverage, to maximize the internal understanding of competitive insights at the therapeutic area and program level + Accountable for leading collaborations with internal stakeholders, business partners and external vendors to maintain a comprehensive understanding of external landscape and supporting information, as well as for developing and maintaining tools required to support the communication of the intelligence, based on the business needs **Requirements** + Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) in life sciences or related field from an accredited institution and 10+ years professional experience; or MSc or MBA with 15+ years pharmaceutical experience. + Five (5) years Competitive R'D Intelligence experience + Experience in biopharma pipeline analysis strongly preferred. + Experience in obesity and muscle disease areas a plus. + Strong leadership capabilities and experience in working effectively within cross-functional teams. + Strong written and oral communication skills **Compensation:**  This position, Associate Director, offers a base salary typically between $140,000.00 and $222,000.00.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits please click here.
