We are looking for a strong communicator, self-starter, team player, and technical professional. The candidate must also we willing to get involved in “hands-on” projects in a mobile machinery development environment.
You will be part of the Global R&D team responsible for implementing Additive Manufacturing into all areas of our business (e.g. Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Procurement). This position will be onsite in our Ames, Iowa North American Additive Manufacturing Hub.
You will gain technical knowledge and experience applying Additive Manufacturing technology to new product development, existing products and service parts as well as tooling and fixtures for production. You will have the opportunity to gain global experience working with colleagues and suppliers from around the world.
Job ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Supporting the creation and delivery of training material for designing with Additive Manufacturing as applied to our products Support our internal Additive Manufacturing Hub running and maintaining machines and completing requests in a timely manner. Supporting Manufacturing and Procurement with Additive Manufacturing. Supporting internal customers with technical and design support in the area of Additive Manufacturing. Participating in various implementation projects for Additive Manufacturing and 3D scanning. Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Additive Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial and/or Manufacturing Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering or Mechatronics Experience in the use of Additive Manufacturing (plastic and metal preferred) and slicing software Experience with CAD software (2D and 3D) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Availability to work 15-25 hours/week during the semesters and full-time in the Summer, preferably for at least one year Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the work location.
