Job Posting Summary
The Communication and the Arts Department at Mercy University seeks part-time, adjunct instructors to teach general education courses to undergraduate students.
Successful candidates may be offered the opportunity to teach up to three section(s) of any given course, with an emphasis in Oral Communication, Music, Art, Media, and Cinema, with a maximum of three course assignments per semester.
Commitment to teaching with inclusive excellence is required. Instructors may also be asked to provide assistance with program assessment and development and to attend select programmatic or professional development meetings.
Schedule & Location: Day and Evening teaching opportunities. Courses may be offered at the Dobbs Ferry, Manhattan, or Bronx campuses, or online. Adjunct faculty are not eligible for relocation assistance.
Please attach CV and cover letter which outline your experience teaching college-level courses and the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of three professional references. Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience:
+ Demonstrated experience successfully teaching general education or Communication and Arts courses at the college-level.
Education Requirements:
+ Masters or Doctorate from an accredited institution in an appropriate academic discipline.
Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on a semi-monthly pay cycle.
Mercy University promotes a community campus environment. As a result, employment is limited to the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Applicants outside of those states or the USA will be required to relocate.
