The program provides vocational skills training and personal enrichment opportunities for students with mild to moderate disabilities. The Personal Success Program allows students who may not otherwise enter post-secondary education both the opportunity to enhance their Personal & Professional Development skills and experience college life. Examples of recent offerings include Reading for the Workplace, Expressive Art Therapy, Introduction to Web Design, Introduction to Spanish for the Workplace, and Pet Care. Adjunct Faculty may design noncredit courses that explore a wide variety of Personal & Professional Development options for the special needs community. Required Qualification(s) + Experience teaching, preferably students with mild to moderate cognitive and/or other disabilities + Developed and/or implemented curriculum, preferably in special educational + Current licensing or certification if required to teach in the assigned subject area. + Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. + Competency in technologies commonly used in college level instruction, dependent on subject area.
