This position involves preparing and delivering lectures, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and providing academic support in areas related to speech, language, and communication disorders. The adjunct professor will collaborate with department faculty, participate in student advising, and maintain expertise in the field to ensure up-to-date instruction. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: + Prepare and teach in-person and/or online graduate classes, including: using Blackboard to build and share course materials with students, creating syllabi inline with program and university standards, timely submission of feedback and course grades, and meeting all academic course deadlines and policies + Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence + Contribute assessment data and course information as requested + Provide at least one hour of availability outside of the classroom + Provide world-class education that prepares students to think and respond critically and creatively in a rapidly changing field-based scientific study and other classroom and field practices Qualifications Required Skills & Experience: + Applicants with no teaching experience should have at least two years of professional experience within the discipline + Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, a current CV, statement of teaching philosophy/experience, teaching evaluations (if applicable), and full contact information for at least three academic or professional references + Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association + Area of specialty is dependent on specific program needs Education Requirements: + Master’s Degree in speech-language pathology or related fields is required About Mercy Mercy University is a dynamic, independent, coeducational New York City areauniversity that offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs in six schools: Business, Education, Health and Natural Sciences, Liberal Arts, Nursing, and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Defined Contribution Plan Eligible employees are enrolled in the Defined Contribution Plan after two (2) years of full-time employment at Mercy University and receive a semi-monthly contribution from the College, based on age and salary. If an employee is under age 36, they will receive a contribution of 3.3% of their annual salary each pay period.
