This position will be primarily located at the Mercy University Dobbs Ferry campus and the instructor will be responsible for teaching one or more sections of General Biology I and/or General Biology II Lecture (fully in-person). Multiple sections of General Biology are available. This is an opportunity to join the School of Health and Natural Sciences with undergraduate programs in biology, clinical laboratory science, health science, communication disorders, exercise science, nursing, occupational therapy assistant (AAS degree), and veterinary technology as well as 5 accredited graduate health professional programs (communication disorders, occupational therapy, nursing, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies). Salary and rank are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Qualifications Required Skills & Experience + Candidates with a record of excellent teaching at the undergraduate level are strongly preferred + Experience teaching General Biology Lectures to undergraduate students strongly preferred + Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment and a diverse multicultural setting. + Strong computer skills required. Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS), particularly with BlackBoard, as well as teleconferencing software, particularly Zoom and BlackBoard Collaborate, strongly preferred + Experience teaching online preferred Education Requirements: + Ph.D. in Biology or a related discipline, preferred; M.S. in Biology or a related discipline, required Compensation is based on a semester and calculated on a semi-monthly pay cycle.
