Job Title: Adjunct Faculty of Information and Technological Literacy--FLORHAM--Fall 2024 Campus: Florham Campus, Madison, NJ Department: Library-Florham Hiring Manager: Ana Fontoura Hiring Manager Title: University Librarian College: Position Type: Faculty Grade: Adjunct FLSA: Exempt Faculty Rank: Adjunct Faculty Salary: Commensurate with Experience Status: Part-Time Months Worked: No Response Job Summary: A Master’s degree holder in Library and/or Information Science is needed to teach one or more 3-credit section(s) of INTEC1111: Technological and Information Literacy in fall 2024. The goal of this course is to assist students in acquiring confidence and proficiency in the technological and information literacy concepts of seeking, evaluating, managing, and using the wealth of information currently available in print, media, and online with digital tools. This course is designed to fulfill the General Education requirements for technology and information literacy. The candidate must have experience with information literacy, technological literacy, and various technology tools including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and library databases. The candidate is expected to impart hands-on knowledge to students in a computer lab classroom setting, following the profession’s standards and best practices. The candidate needs to conduct students learning outcome assessment and submit a report at the end of the course for accreditation purposes. Available class sessions are: Florham – MTh 1-2:15pm and TF 1-2:15pm; Metro – MTh 1-2:15pm and TF 1-2:15pm. Required Qualifications: 1. MLS from an ALA accredited school or advanced degree in information science.2. Demonstrable experience teaching information and technology literacy preferred.3. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with strong human relations skills.4. Must have advanced knowledge of computer software/hardware operations, email, and web interface.5. Ability to work with diverse faculty, staff, and students.6. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check. Candidates for hire will be required to sign a waiver authorizing the background check and produce a Social Security Card.
