Adjunct Faculty are scheduled to teach based on the needs of students and their department, and may have the option to teach in more than one modality. Responsibilities: + Planning and delivering high-quality student-centered instruction appropriate to an open-access community college. + Participating in curricular development, assessment, and revision at the course, discipline, and program levels, including assessment of student learning outcomes. + Engaging in assessment of college-wide learning outcomes and demonstrating the use of the results of these assessments in courses. + Ensuring that principles of equity and inclusion are integrated in curriculum and instructional practice. + Ensuring that student knowledge, skills and abilities are aligned with current academic and workforce best practices. + Incorporating engaging and appropriate academic technology into all modes of instructional delivery. + Teaching assigned courses in accordance with description published in the College catalog and the approved course outline. + Completing mandatory compliance training as assigned during the semester. The uppercase letter following the discipline indicates the campus where the position is available: (A) – Ammerman, Selden (E) – Eastern, Riverhead, (G) – Grant, Brentwood American History (A) Communication Studies (A) Economics (A) Political Science (A) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: + Master’s Degree in discipline or related field. + Experience teaching in a college setting or in industry professional/technical experience related to the discipline. + Demonstrated commitment to principles of equity and student success. + Familiarity with a learning management system and/or willingness to use the College’s LMS (i.e. Brightspace). Preferred Qualifications: + Community college teaching experience. + Experience teaching face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or blended learning.
