Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) seeks to fill the position of Adjunct Instructor (face-to-face, online, dual enrollment) – American Sign Language Studies located in the Division of Liberal Arts. This is a part-time position and is open for recruitment.
**REPORTS TO** :
Fine Arts and Communication Department Chair
**LOCATIONS** :
Mid-City campus and online
**COMPENSATION:**
**Salary:** $2,500 per 3-hour credit course taught
**Estimated Hours per Week:** Fall/Spring/Summer
**Dates/Times -** Day, night and weekend classes; various times available

**Minimum Qualifications**
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ **MINIMUM:**
1. Baccalaureate degree in American Sign Language (Linguistics, Sign Language Studies, Sign Language Education, Interpreter Education, Deaf Education)
2. Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) credential from Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or certification from American Sign Language Teachers Association (ASLTA) or any other equivalent certification.
+ **PREFERRED:**
1. Master's degree in American Sign Language (Linguistics, Sign Language Studies, Sign Language Education, Interpreter Education, Deaf Education)
2. At least two years teaching American Sign Language classes at a college or university
3. At least two years of experience as a certified American Sign Language interpreter OR certification from ASLTA or equivalent certification.

**Job Concepts**
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for teaching courses as assigned. Adjunct faculty may teach in the evening, weekends, online and dual enrollment courses as needed. Faculty are expected to support the institution's mission and vision and abide by the Faculty Handbook and college-wide policies. Adjunct Faculty are expected to maintain currency in their teaching discipline Adjunct faculty report directly to the academic program manager and/or department chair within their respective departments and divisions.
