Major Responsibilities SUNY Adirondack is seeking qualified candidates to help support our Mechatronics AAS Program as an Adjunct Professor. The adjunct faculty's responsibilities will be primarily to supervise lab sections, but may potentially cover lecture sections as well if needed or desired. The Mechatronics program that covers basic electric/electronic circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers, motor controls, robotics and hydraulics/pneumatics. Educational Requirements The successful candidate will have as a minimum an Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology or Mechatronics. Alternatively, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years industry experience in one or more of the aforementioned areas. Teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable, especially experience in a community college environment. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy, familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, teaching strategies with a focus on student-centered learning, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work in a collegial setting within the division. Salary Adjunct salary is based on the number of contract hours per semester, remunerated at the rate of $1,185 per contract hour in a semester.
