The position includes opportunities for training on plastics processing equipment and testing equipment. The intern is a key part of the Application Development engineering team providing support on specialized application development projects to facilitate industry & market adoption of polymer solutions. Projects involve hands-on, laboratory based, data generation & fabrication activities as well as CAE based work and review of technical literature. Interns will also be asked to thoughtfully incorporate theoretical and experimental information in the course of their work and research. **We count on you for:** + The Application Development intern will be assigned at least one key project that specifically addresses real customer and industry needs. + They will design, organize, lead, and complete this project within the timeframe of the semester. + The intern will report directly to the Application Development Solutions lab manager and will provide weekly updates on their progress. + Projects can include or focus on prototyping, secondary operations, application testing, or troubleshooting. + Deliverables include a final written report including a review of the work, learnings, and recommendations for continued research.
