Summary
JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of administrative, medical secretary, and complex clerical duties for a Medical Chief of Service including billing, payroll, transcription, and scheduling. Performs various clerical and administrative duties depending on department needs which may include, patient registration, timekeeping and other payroll functions, assisting during emergencies, etc. Transcribes from a Dictaphone, shorthand or other notes, and/or handwritten format, using word processing equipment and/or a typewriter. Places, receives, and screens telephone calls and greets visitors. Assist with coordination and preparation of information for all Regulatory agencies to insure compliance with standards. Demonstrates professionalism, integrity and accountability in the Medical Secretary role. Ensures that all customers receive exemplary service. Serves as a patient/customer advocate when needed. Optimizes facility and professional charge entry and subsequent collections for all services provided. REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma: GED equivalent or High School certificate. 5-7 years of experience. Microsoft Office Suite; Basic computer skills; Cerner; Standard Office Equipment; Medical terminology; Critical thinking skills. Demonstrates the ability to follow verbal instructions, as well as the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Additional Information
