Administrative Assistant, Nursing

Full time, days, 8:00a - 4:30p, M-F

Job Summary
Provides secretarial and administrative support to the Nursing Leaders at Upper Chesapeake Health, including AVP, directors and managers.  Assist the leadership team with management of INFOR, CONCUR, change forms, ordering and following up on tickets.  Other daily activities will include managing schedules, assisting with meeting minutes and supporting each manager as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepares and distributes reports, letters, minutes, and memoranda from rough draft or transcription.Receives and directs telephone calls and messages politely and efficiently.   Participates as part of team to accomplish departmental goals.   Assists with management of departmental work as requested.Tracks attendance for Nurse Manager.Coordinates the updates and typing of nursing policies and procedures.   Exercises good judgement within scope of the designated responsibility.Relieves other administration secretaries as necessary and appropriate.Demonstrates self-directed learning behaviors to maintain and improve abilities and skills.Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, team members, management, and the hospitals.Attends at least three education programs each year, in addition to the mandatory fie and safety training program.Demonstrates a friendly, helpful, approachable, and professional demeanor congruent with UCH’s service excellence philosophy.Establishes and maintains accurate filing system for department.Assists department staff with clerical, PC and supply needs.  Coordinates office supply ordering for units.Tracks tickets associated with system issues.Coordinates meeting schedule/calendar for nurse leaders.Assists managers in activities related to INFOR.Utilizes INFOR to create requisitions and purchase orders. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Administrative Director and Director of Nursing Support Services as needed.Company Description

QualificationsEducation & Training:  High school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or Business school degree preferred.  
 Work Orientation & Experience:  Proficiency in word processing and personal computer skills.  Experience in health care setting preferred.  Experience in database management, letter writing, taking, transcribing and distributing of minutes.  Minimum of 3 years’ administrative support experience, working in an office setting.Additional Information

Compensation:

Pay Range: $21.50/hr-$30.12/hr
