Email a Friend Save Save Apply Now Job Description ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, Architecture-Building Technology (BT) Program (https://architecture.mit.edu/building-technology) , to work as part a team to provide administrative support for the BT section, a global leader in sustainable construction practices. Will serve as a resource to faculty, graduate students, prospective students, and visitors; serve as liaison between section and headquarters and with interdepartmental offices; handle financial concerns; coordinate admissions for the program; and provide support for special projects as needed. Responsibilities include maintaining the day-to-day activities of the program, providing administrative assistance to the program’s faculty, and overseeing the needs of students and lab; working on faculty promotions and searches; scheduling doctoral exams; mail pickup and distribution; maintaining system of tracking office keys and card-reader access; processing visiting student appointments; liaising with other discipline groups within MIT; event management; and maintaining inventory of computers, electronics, cameras, etc. A full description is available here (https://architecture.mit.edu/jobs) . Job Requirements REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years’ administrative, office, or related experience; high-level computer literacy, including ability and willingness to learn new software; experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; proficiency with web-based management, including shared calendars, mail and to-do lists, group home and publication pages, and shared file folders; ability to prioritize and work independently; strong organizational, time-management, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; discretion and judgment with confidential information; and ability to work effectively within a culture inclusive of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations and an appreciation for and ability to leverage the capabilities, insights, and ideas of all individuals.
