Purpose

The Administrative Assistant in the Center for Global and Community Nursing provides essential administrative support to facilitate and coordinate international and community outreach and activities within the UT Austin School of Nursing (SON). As part of the SON’s Center for Global and Community Nursing , the position will provide support for faculty engaging in international activities and international visitors, and assistance to the Interim Associate Dean for Global and Community Nursing.  

Responsibilities

Provide administrative assistance to SON faculty as they plan, execute and coordinate global and community engagement initiatives in teaching, research and service.Maintain and track documents, reports and correspondence related to international and community programs and partnerships.Schedule meetings, appointments and events related to global/community engagement, and document meeting minutes during Center team meetings.Ensure timely communication and coordination with international and community partners.Serve as a point of contact for global/community partners/visitors, responding to and following-up on emails and providing information.Provide logistical support for international visitors in partnership with Texas Global, including visa processes, accommodation, transportation, and orientation.Maintain databases of international partners, contacts, and resources.Keep a record of SON alumni residing abroad and maintain periodic communication with them.Generate reports and analyze data related to global/community activities.Perform other miscellaneous administrative duties including, but not limited, copying/faxing/filing/etc., as assigned in relation to international and community affairs.

Required QualificationsAssociate’s degree or higher.At least 3 years of relevant clerical experience or 1 year of experience at the Sr. Office Assistant level.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and multitasking skills.Proficiency in office software and tools such as MS office, BOX, Qualtrics, etc.Strong written and verbal communication as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and students. Experience with calendaring software and platforms, which may include Google, Microsoft Outlook, Doodle, Calendly, etc.Willingness to learn new skills as required by the position.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or relevant educational background.Prior administrative experience supporting small teams and/or managers.Experience working in a financial or a higher education environment.

Salary Range

$20,000 + depending on qualifications
