Zion Lodge is in National Register of Historic Places designed in 1924 by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the National Park Service rustic style. The Zion Lodge is a year-round operation with 76 hotels rooms, 6 suites and 40 cabins as well as a restaurant, outside grab and go café, bar, gift shop and auditorium space. In the year 2025 a coffee and wine bar will be opening.
Zion Lodge is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Zion National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. Renewable energy projects and energy efficiency upgrades will also be completed as well as other Sustainability innovations. POWDR operates Zion Lodge under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service.
Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the Human Resources, Lodging, Maintenance, and Retail departments at Zion Lodge, ensuring smooth daily operations. In addition to general administrative duties, the position will be responsible for assisting with cash auditing and reconciliation to support the financial accuracy of the lodge.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in daily cash reconciliation and support the auditing of cash receipts for multiple departments, including Retail, Lodging, and Food & Beverage.
Ensure accuracy in cash handling, follow established procedures, and report discrepancies to department heads or the Finance Manager.
Maintain detailed records of cash transactions and reconcile cash counts against reported figures.
Collaborate with the team to ensure proper controls and policies are followed in cash handling across departments.
Provide general administrative assistance to the HR, Lodging, Maintenance, and Retail departments, including scheduling meetings, organizing calendars, and preparing departmental documentation.
Prepare and distribute departmental communications, memos, and reports as needed.
Maintain organized and accurate files for cash audit records, departmental documentation, and communications.
Respond to inquiries from employees, guests, and vendors regarding administrative matters and general operations.
Work closely with department heads to understand their administrative needs and support their operational goals.
Assist in coordinating interdepartmental projects and initiatives, helping to ensure they are completed efficiently and on time.
Ensure all cash audit records and administrative documentation are accurately maintained and up to date for internal reviews and compliance.
Support the preparation of financial reports related to cash handling, and assist in ensuring compliance with established cash handling policies.
Ensure compliance with company policies regarding data protection and confidentiality, particularly with cash-handling procedures.
Support the implementation of office procedures and best practices to improve overall efficiency and workflow within departments.
Collaborate with department managers to improve cash-handling processes and administrative operations where necessary.

Work Location:
Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site.
Commuting to work from the local vicinity is acceptable.
Due to the nature of our business, Zion Lodge is open every day. You must be prepared to work a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Able to work and thrive in Zion National Park.
Previous experience in an administrative role, preferably in the hospitality, retail, or financial sectors.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
Experience with cash handling, auditing, or financial reconciliation is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn lodge-specific software.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders, including employees, guests, and vendors.
High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
