Administrative Assistant
Job Title: Administrative Assistant Job Description The Laboratory Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing support to customers and clients, as well as administrative support to the clinical laboratory in an accurate and timely manner. This position operates under the supervision and direction of the General and Technical Supervisors. Responsibilities + Recording and communicating daily sample volume to the appropriate clients in a timely manner. + Recording and resolving sample issues; communicating issues and resolutions. + Maintaining an organized system for ready access and retrieval of current and archived records and forms. + Maintaining sample volume logs and other metrics related to the samples such as Turn-Around-Time. + Answering phone calls in a professional and helpful manner and documenting the phone call as per company's methods. + Responding to emails in a timely and appropriate manner. + Handling reporting and data entry tasks associated with releasing results to clients daily in a timely manner (50% of job). + Identifying problems related to their own work that may adversely affect test reports and consulting with a Supervisor for corrective actions. + Performing and documenting all corrective actions as assigned. + Assisting in quality control/improvement activities. + Completing and documenting all mandatory trainings, including annual safety training. + Completing and documenting continuing education activities as applicable to work. + Other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + 2-3 years of administrative experience. + 2-3 years of data entry experience. + Customer service experience. + Microsoft Office Suite Work Environment The position requires working in the lab 30% of the time and in an office setting 70% of the time. The candidate must be comfortable in both environments and will be provided with necessary gear such as gloves and lab coat. The work hours are from 9 AM to 5 PM, Tuesday through Saturday, with a 0.20 shift differential on Saturdays. The role is 100% onsite.
