Job Description

Position Overview

As an Administrative Assistant at the Chickasaw Wind Energy Center, you will coordinate office services such as purchasing, payroll, records control, and other administrative activities. To include support of the Mid-American portfolio consisting of 1 maintenance asset located throughout the northern region of Iowa. Successful candidates will be self-starters who can interpret operating policies and exercise independent judgment in the resolution of administrative problems.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and implement office services such as payroll, purchasing, records control, projects and budget accounting operationsAssist with invoice distribution, purchase orders and codingAnalyze unit operating practices such as record keeping systems, forms control, office layout, personnel requirements, creating new systems or revising established proceduresInterpret and communicate operating policiesCoordinate collection and preparation of financial and operations reportsParticipate in interview of job applicants and conduct orientations of new employees as neededLocate and compile information and format reports, graphs, tables, records and other sources of informationAssemble and categorize facts and figures for written computation and calculationsAssist with special events planningOperate personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support softwareUse various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reportsOther duties as assigned

Required Skills

High school diploma or equivalent2 + years of administrative assistant experience or relevant work experienceProficient in MS Office or similarExcellent communication, networking, computer skillsAbility to maintain positive working relationships and to work as part of a teamAble to work 40 hours per week with the possibility of overtime as needed

Preferred Skills

Oracle experience preferred but not requiredExperience in using computer and computer programs daily
