Description of Work
Salary Range or Recruitment Range: NC01; Salary Range - $19.58 hour
This is a Temporary Full-Time Position. There are no leave or retirement benefits offered.
This position will help maintain a professional and efficient office environment by providing administrative and clerical support to the Central Office Right of Way Unit located in the NCDOT Highway Bldg. in Raleigh. The ideal candidate will provide a high level of customer service by maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
Duties will include the following:
+ Basic knowledge of program services, policies and procedures; ability to demonstrate and apply this knowledge in performance of office support tasks; ability to explain and interpret program information to clients/customers and staff.
+ Basic knowledge of data collection and storage of data collection and storage to compile, assimilate, and organize printed and electronic information.
+ Ability to convey basic information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups.
+ Ability to adjust language or terminology to meet needs of the recipient (s).
+ Ability to present ideas in written form; ability to use correct grammar, organization, and structure.
+ Ability to utilize office equipment and other technology (software and systems) to meet work needs.
+ Ability to facilitate the flow of work and coordinate office support activities with other staff; ability to maintain internal and external contacts for work coordination.
+ Ability to understand basic issues, identify problems and opportunities to determine the appropriate course of action.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
This is a temporary position meaning there are no vacation/sick leave benefits or retirement benefits. Must be able to work full-time hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Must have the ability to perform repetitive type job functions. Must have the ability to sit at a computer for long periods reviewing documents. Ability to scan, save and file documents electronically and accurately. Strong organizational and deductive reasoning skills, accurate data entry, and attention to detail required. Experience in computer software programs (MS Office Word and Excel) Outlook, SAP.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
